Strawberries and ice cream! This is one of my favorite ice creams ALL THE WORLD!! I love how real strawberry chunks blend into the vanilla ice cream! This is very tasty! It tastes like real ice cream, with rich vanilla ice cream topped with strawberry chunks!
To make this ice cream you basically make vanilla ice cream first and then mash the frozen strawberries into almost frozen vanilla ice cream! And since the strawberries are frozen, you don't have to worry too much about bruising and squeezing them, you can happily mash/mix them! It's not only therapeutic, it gives you delicious results in the end! This is definitely a must-try!
Strawberry and cream ice cream
Ingredients:
4 egg yolks
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
300 grams sweetened condensed milk
500 ml heavy cream (double/heavy)
1 pack of fresh strawberries
Steps to make Strawberries and ice cream:
Steps 1.
Beat egg yolks with vanilla using an electric whisk until fluffy.
Steps 2.
Then add the sweetened condensed milk and continue to stir until well blended.
Steps 3.
Beat the cream in a separate bowl until it thickens and forms soft peaks then rub the egg yolk mixture into the cream and beat until well combined.
Steps 4.
Cover and put the bowl in the freezer. After 3 hours, remove the bowl from the freezer and shake vigorously, then put it back in the freezer.
Steps 5.
Shake again after a few hours then freeze again.
Steps 6.
Meanwhile, clean the strawberries then cut into small pieces and freeze separately.
Steps 7.
When the ice cream is almost hardened, give one last beater then add the frozen strawberries to the ice cream and mix well.
Steps 8.
Don't be afraid to mash up some strawberries. Once mixed well, put it back in the freezer and let it harden.
